We are living in strange times at the moment where everything seems to be put on hold. The coronavirus pandemic has affected many different industries and people within businesses.

There is no doubt that the coronavirus outbreak has put a strain on many recruiters in the UK with a huge reduction in roles, dealing with hard to reach clients and having to delay candidate start dates.

But for others, furloughing their staff has been the only way to really cope in these times where companies are struggling.

According to a Recruitment Pulse Survey revealed just how much the pandemic is taking its toll on businesses and companies.

The survey found that 50% of recruitment companies that took part in the survey had already made the decision to furlough their staff through the government’s coronavirus job retention scheme.

With 21% of the companies saying that they would not consider the furlough scheme.

The government’s scheme covers 80% of wages up to £2,500 a month and this will last until the end of May.

The same survey then revealed that 28% of recruitment companies have already made staff redundant.
