The Saudi Arabian Ministry of Health has teamed up with technology giant Huawei to collaborate on the introduction of smart healthcare within the Kingdom.

Huawei hosted its sixth annual Huawei Day KSA event where experts and leaders within the Saudi Arabian IT field attended. Talks and discussions over the latest technologies were brought up and how they can be applied into the Kingdom’s future which they hope to be digitally driven.

Including digital technology is vital for the future of the Saudia Arabian healthcare and will help to contribute to Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 - which aims to improve public sectors within the Kingdom and that includes health.

The National Transformation Programme (NTP) was also a factor in the discussion with the tech giant and experts. This programme aims to achieve excellence within the government, improving the economy and living standards for residents which will be implemented through the use of technology.

During the event, the Ministry of Health signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) which sees the ministry use digital infrastructure to enhance business and new models of care. Whilst Huawei aims to introduce new technology to the ministry and offering services in the smart healthcare area.
