The UAE’s largest medical teaching facility has opened up in the emirate of Ajman and will benefit residents as well as students.

On Monday 8th October, the largest teaching facility was inaugurated at Thumbay Medicity in Ajman. The university hospital has 350 beds in it.

The Thumbay University hospital, which is connected to the Gulf Medical University (GMU), will take patients from the region and be treated by the students studying at the GMU.

The hospital is offering free outpatient consultations for the next two week as a kind gesture to the community.

GMU has six colleges which offer 26 different medical programmes. All of the programmes offered are recognised by the Commission of Academic Accreditation, the highest accrediting body in the UAE.

The hospital currently has 350 beds, just over 100 consultation clinics and 100 beds specially for long term care and rehabilitation.

Furthermore, there are 40 beds for intensive care and a 10 bed dialysis unit.

They also revealed new technology along with the hospital. The first robotics pharmacy will be the biggest robotics pharmacy in the country which will see automated robotic technology prepare and dispense medicine.
