The city state of Singapore has a large expat population. Singapore has such a diverse community and has a very welcoming atmosphere. It is easy to make friends with other expats, especially if you have children that are within school age. There are many Facebook groups available for you to join. 

English is also one of the main languages in Singapore which makes it even easier to chat with the locals.

Singapore is listed as one of the top 10 safest countries in the world. It has one of the lowest crime rates and violent crimes are really rare.

There is also a zero-tolerance policy towards drug use in the city state.

3 - Public Transport

It is highly advised to use public transport in Singapore as owning a car can come at a high price. Having a car comes along with heavy customs duties, tax and insurance fees and the prices for tolls and parking are expensive. 

Singapore has both an excellent subway and bus service. These systems are easy to use and very affordable. Taxis are also cheap if you want to take an alternative mode of transport. 

4 - Education 

Singapore has one of the best education systems in the world. There are many options for expats if they want to enrol their children into schools in Singapore. 

There are a lot of good public schools in the city state which are affordable and will provide a high-quality education for children. There are also private international schools which are a good choice for expats wanting their child to continue the school curriculum in their home country.

5 - Cost of Living 

Despite Singapore being one of the most expensive cities to live in, it can be kept to a minimum. With public transport being so cheap and the rate of pay being quite high, it is quite simple to maintain a high standard of living in Singapore. 

The Government in Singapore keeps a close eye on the economy for good economic effect.
