The United Arab Emirates is the best country in the world for access to quality healthcare, whilst it is in the top ten for overall well-being according to a new report.

Data compiled by American analytics giant Gallup saw the Emirates ranked as one of the best locations globally to call home, with it posting world leading figures in five of the categories studied.

As well as access to high quality healthcare, an indicator that pays tribute to the hard work of those working in the sector and the high levels of Government investment dedicated to it, the UAE also lead the world in how safe residents felt, their satisfaction with Government policy to protect the environment, the country’s employment ratio and the number of people with access to a mobile phone.

Covering 160 locations, and looking at factors that make people healthy, comfortable or happy, the Emirates also received a notable second place finish for absence of health problems - despite rising obesity rates. A result that further works to highlight the good work of those in the medical sector.

On top of this it was ranked as the fifth best location globally for children, making a move ideal for those with a young family.

Speaking about the findings, Minister for Happiness and Wellness, Ohoud bint Khalfan Al Roumi, said: “The UAE's advanced ranking on the indicators reflects the country's focus on enhancing wellbeing in all sectors.

“I must praise the efforts of all government, private, community and academic organisations in the UAE as being the driving force behind this achievement, which reflects the vision and direction of the UAE’s leadership.”
